Motor protection switches are electromechanical protection devices for the main circuit. They are mainly used to switch motors on/off manually and to provide fuse-free protection against short circuit, overload and phase faults. Fuse-less protection saves costs and space and provides a quick response in short-circuit conditions by shutting down the motor within milliseconds.
